Join in our discussion of these various emotional stages, recognizing our triggers, and ways to receive support so that we can continue to be our child’s best advocate.
This webinar describes Selective Mutism (SM) as a social communication anxiety disorder, its diagnostic criteria and its relation to Social Anxiety, etiology, and presenting symptoms. Also presented are sensory challenges that commonly co-occur with Selective Mutism. This webinar explains the importance of diagnosing SM early as well as why the disorder is often misdiagnosed or mismanaged. Finally, Social Communication Anxiety Treatment® (S-CAT®) is introduced and the goals of treatment are described.
