Don’t let summer break translate to a break in building social communication skills! Join this webinar, hosted by Jennifer Brittingham, M.A., Lead Clinical Counselor at the SMart Center, and learn strategies based on Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum’s Social Communication Anxiety Treatment® (S-CAT®) to instill coping skills and maintain progression during the summer months.
Jennifer will teach you strategies and you will learn varies tips to help your child transition from school and throughout the summer. Examples include:
- Tips to cope with the sudden change of routine which can cause a child anxiety.
- Continue socialization and structured communication opportunities with peers and group activities.
- Guide interaction with new peers, friends and relatives and managing expectations from others
- DOs & DON’Ts for summer camp planning: should you send your child/teen to camp or an organized activity?
- Manage expectations for speech during summer traveling, e.g. going on vacation (new & different environment).
